#idomarathon is looking for sponsors!! Sponsorship could be anything!!...literally.  There are 9 of us.  We have to gas up, stay in hotels, eat and buy marriage licenses! #idomarathon Illinois and Hawaii

 

Within the last week marriage equality has passed in both Illinois AND Hawaii!!

How exciting is this?!?!

Every time another state passes,  I get a little teary eyed because it is forward progress in this marriage equality fight. 

Even though we are no longer Illinois residents I was so overwhelmed with joy when marriage equality finally passed in Illinois.  Because though we had a civil union in Illinois on 4/7/2012, it wasn't a marriage!! I CANNOT wait to go to my home state and OFFICIALLY say "I DO" to my wife again for the umpteenth time!!  Which we are planning to be in July 2014. 

And now today Hawaii has passed!! A warm weather wedding (finally)...this one...WILL be on a beach!!

So as we continue to wait and wait and wait for Georgia to come to their senses, we will continue our marathon...but in the end my goal is to say "I DO" to my wife 50 times....(at least)!!

So now I get to change my hashtag from #8down7togo OFFICIALLY to #8down9togo...at least until the next state passes marriage equality!

Well it looks like we will have to postpone the weddings we had planned for Rhode Island and Delaware on August 1, 2013 due to funding.  (sad face) But once we set a new date we will update you.  SO STAY TUNED!!

#idomarathon Bright Horizons

We have a lot of things in the works and are waiting for them to come to fruition.  We already had a great radio interview last Saturday!! And from that we will hopefully get a connection to someone locally here in Georgia to get us a little more exposure!

We were also nominated to be Grand Marshals in the Atlanta Pride Parade in October.  We won't know if we got selected until August but it's just cool to have our name thrown in the hat!

So all this, in addition to being recognized on a federal level as wives is super awesome.  But our work is not done because none of our 8 marriages are legal in Georgia. (sad face).  So we continue!

With that 8 down....6 more to go (IA, CA, MN, RI, DE, WA)!! And I get excited just thinking about 6 more weddings!!

 

PLUS today is the 3 month anniversary of our 5th "I DO" in Colchester, Vermont!!

Georgia Couple Wraps Up I Do Marathon, Marrying Each Other in Eight States Offering Marriage Equality:

Kacey and Chwanda Frierson-Nixon celebrated their third anniversary of their relationship on April 7, and now they’ve added nine
more anniversaries to their calendar—nine wedding anniversaries.

 

SO COOL!!

April 7...Blue...Wedding #1...The #idomarathon....so far!

Central Park is BEAUTIFUL! Even though it was windy out..and the wind blew one of my eyelashes loose..lol.  Our ceremony was PERFECT! Looking into my wife's eyes and looking at our children's smiles, made me forget how cold I was.  But it couldn't have been more perfect.  And even though it looks white, my dress is really sky blue!

 

Thanks to everyone who came out to be a part of this day! We truly appreciate it!!

Tomorrow we are off to Connecticut.....and it's yellow!!
