Happy New Year

2012 has been extremely blessed for us!

On April 7, 2012 we became the happiest women on earth when we stood in front of God and our friends and family and pledged our love to each other now and forever!

We love the passage of marriage equality in Maine, Maryland and Washington, that has added to the #idomarathon.  Now 9 marriages instead of the original 7!

Of course the launch of, in which the responses have been extremely positive.
And all the love on the facebook page

We just want to thank everyone for being with us through this leg of the journey, but it's not over yet!! 3 more months to go!

Continue to be loved, appreciated and blessed and see you tomorrow!!!

We had already had the "no Christmas presents" talk with the kids, so they did not want to put the tree up. But some angels touched our family and got them SOMETHING. So me and Chwanda just put the tree up for them, so when they wake up tomorrow and come out their rooms, the tree will be the first thing they see!

So in the midst of your joy, please take the time out to remember those less fortunate and at least send a prayer up for them!! You can send our prayers up now!!

Love yall!!

Yes, we want to protect our children from harm, but we can't keep them locked away from the world. We want them to live and have fun and have a life.  Not to be afraid of life and love. We just pray that we have taught our children enough to protect themselves and to have faith that things will be fine. But if not, in the end, they will know how much we love them with all our heart and how much they mean to us! #showthemnow #teamfrinix

My thoughts...

Hello everyone. It is the other half of the IDOMARATHON couple - ME, CHWANDA. Bet you were wondering when I would be in to say a few words or more. Well here I am! LOL!

Sorry I haven't been in attendance as much. As you can see Kacey is the creator and the voice behind our journey while I just put on my seatbelt and ride and sometimes back seat drive as!

How did we get here? That's funny cause I ask myself this all of the time. How was Kacey lucky enough to find me and get me to love her so. Well, loving her was easy because Kacey adds sustenance, joy, love, happiness, contentment, comfortability, and more to my life. She makes simplicity beautiful. She turns a snapping firework into A GRAND FINALE! Fireworks with rainbow colors and all!!  I think you get the picture.

I am very excited about our journey. It is important for me because if you say we are all equal than I should be able to marry whomever, wherever I please! And what better way than to do it nine times or more over a short period of days. Please believe if I do this nine times or more we will be together FORRRRRREEEEVVVVVVEEERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This journey of love and commitment is one that all would want to be apart of and witness so feel free to follow us along! You will not get bored, believe me!

See ya soon!

Giving Thanks!!

Today on Thanksgiving I just want to say THANK YOU!  Though we are in the beginning stages of the #idomarathon, me and Chwanda are not in the beginning of our relationship.  I love her so much and am so thankful that she shares her love, her life, her passion with me!

I am thankful for all the noise going on in this house.  To have all 7 of our kids here together at one time is a blessing!

I am thankful for all the people who have checked out the website, tweeted us, re-tweeted about us, followed us, checked out the website and so on and so on.

I am thankful to my family for coming over to spend time with us today.  I'm thankful for the ones who aren't here

I am thankful for our circle..our love bubble...of friends and family!

And I am most thankful to God for blessing me with all of the above AND MORE!!

Anyone who knows me knows that when I want to do something I'm excited about it, talk about, the whole 9.  Once we launched the website, I was of course on cloud 100! So happy about what me and my wife did and want to show it to the world.  I showed a co-worker our page, and her face was less than delighted.  And she asked..."Well why are you guys doing that?" And I said with a smile, "why not?"  She went on to tell me that I didn't need to be married for Chwanda to have rights in our relationship because it wouldn't be recognized anyway, not her exact words, but that's what my mind heard.   I just giggled and went into another room.

Who wants to just be in a relationship or just dating forever?  There are some people who don't mind it, I'm not one of those people.  Even if I was dating a guy, we are not just going to be in a relationship, for 10 years, 20 years...uhhh no...yo are going to have to make me your wife.  So the same thing applies to my  No getting free milk from this gonna have to buy it!!  I'm not a cow, but you get what I'm trying to say.  LOL

To me it really isn't about the number of times that we get married, because we did have a civil union on April 7, 2012 that had all the bells and whistles. It was a wonderful day for us.  The dresses, the cake, the family and the friends. But at the end of the whole thing we still weren't MARRIED, we were UNION-ED.  And that doesn't take anything away from that wonderful day, but it does.

So once same-sex marriage became legal in New York July 24, 2011, I thought it would be a great trip with the kids to ride up to New York and do it after our union in April 2012.  And me being me I always want more. So I look and see we can also get married in DC, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire.  So I say Bay, we can just make it a long road trip since they are all on our route or just a few hours from New York.  OOOh, and let's leave the country too!! So Montreal, QC was added to the list.  LOL

SO even though our home state of Georgia will never recognize Chwanda as my wife.  Me, her and our children will know the lengths we are going through to show them and the world, when you have something or someone you love, you will do whatever you need to do as your symbol of love and support and commitment for them.  So I don't care who else knows it, Chwanda is now and will always be my wife, and I will be hers!

Now keep in mind, we have 7 children between us. So it's more than just me and her running off and partaking in this.  We have a  So trust me, a lot of thought was put into doing this. 9 people...and 9 DIFFERENT personalities.... in a car for 11 days travelling the east coast...OMG and.wheeew!! We are ready for it!

Welcome to the JOURNEY!!

Hi and thank you for deciding to tag along on this wonderful exciting and EPIC journey with us.

First, let us introduce ourselves.  We are Kacey Frierson and Chwanda Nixon.  We are a lesbian couple out of Jonesboro, Georgia.  We did have a civil union on April 7, 2012, but of course, a civil union is not the same as a marriage.  We have decided to embark on a cross country, cross continent journey of love, commitment, and equality.  We live in a state where we cannot legally get married.  So we have decided to take this show on the road!!

This is where we will be making our
