#idomarathon Illinois and Hawaii

 

Within the last week marriage equality has passed in both Illinois AND Hawaii!!

How exciting is this?!?!

Every time another state passes,  I get a little teary eyed because it is forward progress in this marriage equality fight. 

Even though we are no longer Illinois residents I was so overwhelmed with joy when marriage equality finally passed in Illinois.  Because though we had a civil union in Illinois on 4/7/2012, it wasn't a marriage!! I CANNOT wait to go to my home state and OFFICIALLY say "I DO" to my wife again for the umpteenth time!!  Which we are planning to be in July 2014. 

And now today Hawaii has passed!! A warm weather wedding (finally)...this one...WILL be on a beach!!

So as we continue to wait and wait and wait for Georgia to come to their senses, we will continue our marathon...but in the end my goal is to say "I DO" to my wife 50 times....(at least)!!

So now I get to change my hashtag from #8down7togo OFFICIALLY to #8down9togo...at least until the next state passes marriage equality!

#idomarathon Bright Horizons

We have a lot of things in the works and are waiting for them to come to fruition.  We already had a great radio interview last Saturday!! And from that we will hopefully get a connection to someone locally here in Georgia to get us a little more exposure!

We were also nominated to be Grand Marshals in the Atlanta Pride Parade in October.  We won't know if we got selected until August but it's just cool to have our name thrown in the hat!

So all this, in addition to being recognized on a federal level as wives is super awesome.  But our work is not done because none of our 8 marriages are legal in Georgia. (sad face).  So we continue!

With that 8 down....6 more to go (IA, CA, MN, RI, DE, WA)!! And I get excited just thinking about 6 more weddings!!

 

PLUS today is the 3 month anniversary of our 5th "I DO" in Colchester, Vermont!!

Mrs. & Mrs.....FEDERALLY!!

DOMA has been deemed UNCONSTITUTIONAL and Prop8 is dismissed...EXCELLENT!!

 

But alas, the #idomarathon will continue because even though the federal government recognizes our 8 marriages and we now get 1,138 rights we didn't have before, our home state of Georgia still does not.  But at least we get to add California to the #idomarathon!!!!

Georgia Couple Wraps Up I Do Marathon, Marrying Each Other in Eight States Offering Marriage Equality:

Kacey and Chwanda Frierson-Nixon celebrated their third anniversary of their relationship on April 7, and now they’ve added nine
more anniversaries to their calendar—nine wedding anniversaries.

 

SO COOL!!

April 7...Blue...Wedding #1...The #idomarathon....so far!

Central Park is BEAUTIFUL! Even though it was windy out..and the wind blew one of my eyelashes loose..lol.  Our ceremony was PERFECT! Looking into my wife's eyes and looking at our children's smiles, made me forget how cold I was.  But it couldn't have been more perfect.  And even though it looks white, my dress is really sky blue!

 

Thanks to everyone who came out to be a part of this day! We truly appreciate it!!

Tomorrow we are off to Connecticut.....and it's yellow!!

Where has the time gone??? #idomarathon

Whew only 13 days until the #idomarathon kicks off and 15 days until our wedding day! On the 1 year anniversary of our civil union and 3 years since we have been together we will be united in holy LEGAL matrimony!! Who can't be happy and excited about that? And to share the moment with 7 of the most important people in our lives, our children makes it that much more special!

This trip is going to be so many things!!  Can't say that everything will go perfectly but if nothing else it will be full of love.

So just keep an eye out...in 13 days you may just see the #idomarathon train buzzing past your freeway of love!!!

There is so much going on behind the scenes..good things to come; a radio show, meetings, phone calls, emails, wheeeew....but it seems like a lot of hurry up and wait.  But we were built for this.

In 59 days and counting, I will be marrying my beautiful wife 9 times in 8 states and 2 countries in 10 days!!! I AM UBER EXCITED!!

I am her soulmate, helpmate, love of her life.

She is the brains of the idea and the producer. I just take orders...lol! I know my place and I play my role!! I wait on her 'to do' list everyday and I comply! She asks my opinion, I respond and she makes it all work together, balanced for the both of us to enjoy and appreciate!

I love her passion, dedication and willingness to make things happen! It's such a joy to watch her create and unfold her ideas and "OUR" wants!

#idomarathon Countdown...66 days!!!

The #idomarathon will kick off in 66 days!! There is still sooo much to do:

• pick clothes for 2 brides and 7 kids for all 9 ceremonies
• get car road ready
• print out applications for licenses
• fill out said paperwork..lol
• get flights for the boys
• keep on promoting and getting the word out there about our journey
• keep all social media sites updates
• make phone calls to make things are how we want them in each location
• talking with the photographers that have signed on to chronicle their selective ceremonies
• speak to the officiants about our ceremonies
• find and purchase a nice video camera to record our moments
• THINK OF OTHER THINGS THAT NEED TO BE ADDED TO THE LIST
• BREATHE!!

But it will all be worth it in the end!  I think this will be the most EXCITING 10 days in #teamfrinix history...so far.  This is just the beginning...so much more is and will be opening up for us.

Good Morning All,

I pray all of your new years dreams have begun or you are in the process of initiating the beginnings of a blessed and prosperous year for yourselves!

Kacey and I have started off the New Year blessed and thanking God for each and every blessing we have been given and those that are yet to come. We only have 85 more days for our journey to begin...CAN WE SAY UBER EXCITED!!!! YESSSSS!!!!

I just want to thank each and all of you for visiting our website, blogspot, facebook page, twitter pages. Thanks for all of your support and love, it is greatly appreciated!

We are creating memories, taking a stance on our love being expressed just as equal as every other human being in the world!

I love my rock, my soulmate, my heart, my partner, my best friend, my wife; with everything in me. She keeps me motivated to get up and tackle the day, EVERY morning! It is a joy and a blessing to have her in my life and I CANNOT wait to stand up NINE times and marry my love this year and however many more as the years pass!! WHEW!!
